Egemen Sert

Masters candidate

Egemen Sert is interested in how we can help people with different experiences, perspectives, and values understand one another rather than dehumanize one another. He believes that the diversity of human experiences enriches our collective lives, and is interested in designing systems that help people hear each other more deeply and appreciate perspectives different from their own.

With a background in AI, Egemen uses computational methods to better understand human values, perspectives, and interactions. He studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at Middle East Technical University and has experience working in applied AI and leading data at startups. At CCC, he explores conversational dynamics through mechanistic interpretability and develops algorithms that can facilitate more effective cross-pollination of ideas.

Outside of research, he enjoys cooking, discovering hidden bars in different cities, and making friends with acrylic markers.
