Founder and executive chairman of international non-profit Project Liberty, Frank McCourt is a civic entrepreneur and executive chair of McCourt Global, a private family company whose interests span the real estate, sports, technology, media, and finance industries. He is also the owner of the French football club Olympique de Marseille and former owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2021, Project Liberty released the groundbreaking open-source Decentralized Social Networking Protocol (DSNP) to serve as a foundation for the next generation of the web, and also established the McCourt Institute. Launched in collaboration with Sciences Po in Paris and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., Project Liberty’s McCourt Institute is advancing research, bringing together technologists and social scientists, and working to develop the governance framework needed to support a healthier internet. McCourt is a Georgetown University alumnus, longtime member of the school’s Board of Directors, and the founding donor of the university’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
