Hande Inanc

Impact and Evaluation Lead

Hande Inanc is a social policy researcher specializing in impact evaluation and in translating research into practice. At the MIT Center for Constructive Communication, she leads the development of evaluation and impact frameworks that support the testing, refinement, and scaling of dialogue-based initiatives. Her research brings together rigorous quantitative and mixed-methods approaches with practical strategies for understanding how conversations shape trust, engagement, and civic participation.

Hande brings over a decade of experience designing and conducting policy-relevant research across the public sector, international organizations, and academia. Before joining MIT, she was a Senior Researcher at Mathematica, where she led large-scale evaluations of employment and social programs for federal agencies and philanthropic organizations. She previously worked at the OECD, contributing to international efforts to measure job quality and worker well-being across countries.

Hande’s work has been published widely in policy reports and peer-reviewed journals. She holds a D.Phil. (Ph.D.) in Sociology from the University of Oxford.
