MIT Center for Constructive Communication (CCC) and its nonprofit collaborator Cortico are at the forefront of using technology and dialogue to foster deeper connections and strengthen civic life. This work was recently highlighted in a three-part feature on the Night Owls podcast, hosted by veteran journalists Joe Klein and John Ellis.

In these episodes, CCC Director and Cortico CEO Deb Roy joins the hosts to discuss the lab’s mission to “build civic muscle” by promoting healthier communication across communities. The conversations explore how the groundbreaking platform developed by Cortico and CCC connects people with differing perspectives, fosters understanding, and contributes to a healthier society.

  • Episode 47 : Deb Roy and Director Kathy Cramer share insights on how the platform operates to bridge divides and the transformative impact it’s already having.
  • Episode 48 : Deb Roy and Alex Kelly Berman dive into Cortico’s vision for enabling “deeper conversations” through technology and thoughtful design.
  • Episode 49 : In the concluding episode, Deb Roy outlines an ambitious roadmap for a national Cortico network, focusing on how communities can work together to strengthen civic life.
